Grasping Eight
This game requires eight dice and a layout consisting of eight spaces that are numbered one through eight. One player is designated as the banker for the game and all other players place a wager on a number of their choosing. One of the players then rolls the eight dice. If three of the eight dice are of the same value then that number value on the layout wins. The banker is required to payout eight times the amount wagered in the winning space to the winning player. Should six of the eight dice produce the same number then this number is a winner. The banker is required to pay out 16 times the amount wagered by the player who correctly guessed the right number and laid his wager in that particular space on the layout.
Klondike
This game is played using five dice and uses a system of hand ranking similar to that used by poker. Players make a wager and play against the bank at even odds. Thus, if a player wagers one dollar and wins, then the bank pays the player two dollars. The numbers are ranked from high to low as 1, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2. The banker rolls the dice first and attempts to make some type of hand based upon the numbers rolled. The hands that are possible are ranked from high to low in the following order; five of a kind, four of a kind, full house (three of a kind and two pair), three of a kind, two pairs, or a pair. The players then have a chance to roll and attempt to roll a hand that is greater than the dealer’s hand. If the player rolls a hand that is of equal or lesser value than the banker’s hand then the bank wins.
The casino version of this game uses ten dice and a layout with spaces marked win, lose, and beat two aces. The banker rolls the first five dice and sets them aside. These five dice make up the banker’s hand. The players then roll the five remaining dice in order. Before their role players must place their desired wager on one of the three spaces in the layout. Players that bet on win must roll a hand that is higher than the banker’s. Players that bet on lose must roll a hand that is lower than the dealer’s. Players that bet on beat two aces must roll at least two pair to win. All ties result in a win for the banker. This gives the house an 11.111 percent advantage in the game. |
